Waddington Street Centre
Waddington Street Centre
A Community Mental Health Resource

WSC started up back in 1981 as a direct initiative of volunteers. Over 25 years on, volunteers remain an integral part of the organisation serving as support workers, in administration and as trustee board members. The contribution of volunteers to the progress of the Centre over the years has been considerable and continues to be greatly appreciated.

Anyone interested in volunteering is interviewed informally by the Centre's Resource Organiser, an application completed, 2 referees consulted and an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check undertaken. Volunteers of all ages above 18 are welcomed to apply, WSC being committed to equality of opportunity for everyone regardless of his or her race, nationality, religion or belief, gender, sexuality, disability, age, or marital status.

Forty two volunteers contributed approximately 7,040 hours of work to the Centre during the year. We estimate the value of this help at approximately GBP78,496 in 2013/14 (based on average local rates of pay).
