Waddington Street Centre
A Community Mental Health Resource
Partnerships

The Centre continues to maintain active partnership arrangements with funders, agencies which provide services at the Centre and agencies which offer complementary facilities and services. It has increasingly strong links with organisations that lobby for improvement of mental health services, a reflection of the standing the organisation has earned for itself among professionals. Many of these relationships are further strengthened through representation on the Board of Directors, in addition to the day-to-day contact with the Centre.

The Centre has also developed its role as the 'voice' of service users in a variety of policy and strategy forums both locally and regionally.

The Centre is an active partner within the County Durham Mental Health Employment, Education & Training network and through its knowledge and experience of service user issues seeks to promote their views and that of the Centre so as to influence policy.

Within the course of the last couple of years the Centre has opened up its college courses to mental health partner organisations. The two partnerships that the Centre is most closely involved with are the Durham Collaborate, a housing related partnership with local charities DASH, Moving On and SHAID and the Durham Delta Partnership, a mental health provider partnership again with local charities the St Margaret's Workshops and the Broadgate Farm Co-operative.
