News from the Greasy Spoon Cafe | date added: 12 May, 2010

It has been number of weeks since the cafe has introduced chips to the menu.  What should not surprise you is the success we having with chip butties, chips and eggs and on a Friday fish and chips is definitely the order of the day.  I have noticed that cod is more popular than haddock so I have taken it off the menu and added scampi instead.

I was very concerned personally about having chips on the menu, as I thought we would become a Greasy Spoon Cafe, and maybe we have.  But there is no doubt in my mind that you, the customers, are enjoying having chips.  What has resulted, is that we are now not selling any baked potatoes on Friday. So for now we have decided to take baked potatoes off the menu just for that day.

If you are wondering how dinners are going we are selling on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but we are lucky if we are selling more than six or less a day.
What I would like to say is if anyone is interested in helping out in the cafe for one or two hours please say speak to Vicky or myself.  You may be able to do an online Food Hygiene Certificate which you can talk to Ali about.

That's all from me.  Any helpful suggestions about the cafe, come and say hello to Vicky or myself.
